Alive Structures uses easy to install modular green roof panels (10 sq. ft. each), consisting of three layers: a drainage and water retention matt made from 80% recycled plastic, a bio-blanket made from natural hemp and jute fabrics that prevents soil erosion and also retains water, engineered light weight soil ranging from 3 " to 2' depending on the structural capacity of the roof and the clients interests, and low growing sedum plants. We can also plant a wide range of wildflowers, ornamental grasses, ferns, annuals, and small shrubs if we have a considerable soil depth and structural capacity. Our most basic green roof system weighs between 10-15 lbs per sq. ft.
